Garages & Driveways

GARAGES

mGarage openings must not exceed either:

  • 40% of the lot width or,
  • 50% of the front façade area (measured as part of a 2 dimension elevation).

mGarages must be setback:

  • A minimum of 0.5m behind the dwelling line and,
  • A minimum of 5.5m from front boundary.

mGarages on corner lots may face a secondary street if:

  • It is set back at least 2m from the lot’s side boundary; and
  • It is further from the street corner than if it were on the primary street.

mTriple garages are not permitted/may be considered or merit for lots exceeding 650sqm only.

mRaw zinaclum and hand painted garage doors are not permitted.


mA garage must have a tilting, sectional or roller door.


mThe colour of the garage door or doors must complement the front façade.


DRIVEWAYS

mOnly one driveway is permitted per allotment.

mDriveway widths must match the width of the crossover and then taper thereafter to align with garage widths.

mDriveways must be sealed. The driveway must have a matte finish, and be made from: stone; brick; in-situ concrete with an exposed aggregate finish; in-situ concrete coloured throughout with pigment; or concrete pavers.

mThe tone of the driveway must be between RGB 100, 100, 100 and RGB 200, 200, 200 (mid-grey to light grey).

GARDEN BED BESIDE DRIVEWAYS

mThe area between the driveway and the nearest side boundary must be a garden bed at least 500 mm wide.

This does not apply when a crossover is constructed as part of a double-crossover with an adjoining lot. Landscaping strips are not permitted between double crossovers.
